Ivan Muhwezi’s City Oilers’ era ends, Nam Blazers switch looms

National Basketball League’s 10-time champions, City Oilers have announced the departure of Ivan Muhwezi.
Muhwezi’s six-year tenure with the City Oilers comes to an end on a disappointing note, having served as captain last season.
“We trained together, we fought together, we grew together. Thank you, captain, and we wish you well on your new journey,” the statement on City Oilers’ page read.
His basketball career began at Buddo Secondary School where he honed his skills before turning professional.
Muhwezi’s exit adds to the growing list of experienced players who have recently left the NBL record champions.
Reports indicate that Muhwezi will soon be unveiled by Namuwongo Blazers, where he will reunite with former teammates Tonny Drileba, James Okello, and Jimmy Enabu.
