Historic double at stake for Turf Today and Eddie Suits in Green Park Super Cup finale

After claiming the respective leagues in February, Turf Today and Eddie Suits could seal a historic double if they win the Green Park Super Cup due on Sunday April 27, 2025.

Turf Today will contest the final against Mbarara Corporate Club in the 35+ category at 7pm before Eddie Suits entertain rivals Amka Real Estates at 8pm – all matches at the state-of-the-art Green Park stadium, Mbarara.

Road to the Finals [35+ Category]

MCCA

MCCA emerged second from group A with 7 points after three group matches.

They claimed a 1-0 victory over Ronniph Electronics on penalties in the quarter finals and over two legs in the semi-final, they eliminated The Heat Events 2-1 on penalties after drawing 2-2 on aggregate.

Semifinals 2(rounds) won The Heat Events 2-2 on aggregate and won 2-1 in penalties. 

TURF TODAY

They gained 7 points from the same group but topped courtesy of a better goal difference before eliminating Amka Real Estate 1-0 in the quarter final.

At the last four stage, Turf Today beat Baguma FC 3-1 on aggregate over two legs.

Road to the FINAL – [Open Category]

EDDIE SUITS

Eddie Suits amassed 8 points in group D thus finishing second but saw off Hays Uganda 3-2 in the quarter final.

They overcame Machete Boys 3-0 on aggregate over two semi-final legs to reach the final.

AMKA REAL ESTATE

Amka finished the group stages on top of Group B with 7 points and beat Akabanga 3-1 on penalties in the quarter final after a draw in normal time.

Their road to the final also included overcoming TK Motors 3-2 in a closely contested semi-final clash over two legs to set up a final with rivals.

This is the inaugural competition of its kind and attracted over 29 teams combined in both categories.
