Friday Night Lights Basketball returns for Season 10

Friday Night Lights (FNL) basketball returns in Season 10 this month with action set to start of Friday, September 27.

The fun-filled event that blends basketball with entertainment and showbiz will be hosted at Lugogo Hockey Ground for a second season running.

“This being the 10th FNL season, we thought we would spice things up a little more.
That is why we have done activations and engagement at various basketball courts in
Greater Kampala in the lead up to the tip-off, next Friday, September 27, 2024,”
Tom Ocamringa, the FNL Team Leader, said.

The activations were spread across seven courts and intended to foster the spirit of camaraderie and boost cultural experiences in the local basketball communities.

“They (activations) went beyond promoting awareness about the FNL events to promoting the growth of the beautiful game of basketball by engaging with local communities and expanding the game’s reach beyond the conventional experiences,” Ocamringa added.

Of the eight teams that will be competing, only Team Afande and Team Comfort are returning from Season 9. The other teams are Team Yawe, Team Kamwada, Team Obleng, Team Wazee and Team Ba-Fani. The Luol Deng Foundation will be fielding a team that should add some South Sudan and NBA flavour to the proceedings.
