Frank Katongole wants to use Afcon U-20 as a launch pad for his career

Frank Katongole is working hard to make the final squad for the Hippos that will play at the forthcoming U-20 Afcon finals in Sudan.

The defensive midfielder, a student at St. Marys’ Kitende was part of the team that played in the qualifiers in Sudan late last year.

“I am working hard to make the squad,” Katongole said in an exclusive interview.

“The target is to be part of the team, play well, help the team achieve the target of winning of the trophy and also launch my career to attract suitors.

Katongole admires former KCCA, SC Villa and Express midfielder Nicholas Kasozi in Uganda and is a big fan of Chelsea star N’Golo Kante.

“Locally, I like Kasozi for his game intelligence and the way he plays in the defensive midfield role while abroad, its N’Golo Kante.”

Katongole just like his teammates will be looking to do better than the 2020 squad that reached the finals of the competition under the tutelage of Morley Byekwaso.
