FIFA Club World Cup: Bayern obliterate minnows Auckland City

FC Bayern Munich showed their might on Sunday, taking New Zealand Champions Auckland City as the two teams faced off at the ongoing FIFA Club World Cup.

The game played at the TQL Stadium in Cincinnati was a mismatch in many aspects and indeed Bayern proved it by securing a 10-0 win.

Auckland City is a team largely dominated by workers from various fields who play football on a part-time basis.

Kingsley Coman set the tone for the Bavarians, opening the scores as early as the sixth-minute header.

Sacha Boey double Bayern’s advantage 12 minutes later, before Michael Olise bagged a first half brace.

Coman and Olise added another goal each before the break while Thomas Muller got his first of the day to give Bayern a 6-0 lead at halftime.

The goals-galore continued even after the break with second half substitute Jamal Musiala scoring a hat trick before Muller put the icing on the cake in the 89th minute.

The two teams will return to action on Friday this week with Auckland facing Benfica in their second Group C game in Orlando while Bayern will take on Boca Juniors later in the day in Miami.
