Express targets top eight with win against Mbarara City

Friday May 16, 2025

  • URA vs Wakiso Giants – Nakivubo 4pm
  • Mbarara City vs Express – Kakyeka 4pm
  • Soltilo Bright Stars vs Mbale Heroes – Kavumba 4pm

For the first time in their history, Express could complete a double over Mbarara City.

The Red Eagles make a long trip to Kakyeka to take on the Ankole Lions with looking for maximum points and enhance chances of finishing in the top eight.

Coming into the clash, Kaddu Badru’s men are 9th on the 16-team table with 39 points, one point off the eighth placed side.

Maximum points for the visitors will move them into the top half of the season and also seal a double over Mbarara City after they won the reverse fixture 3-1 at Nakivubo.

Mbarara City are 13th on the table after surviving relegation with a win over Lugazi in their last outing but also aware that a win on the day will see them exchange 12th position with Lugazi who are just two points ahead.

In the other matches on the day, Wakiso Giants visit URA at Nakivubo while already relegated sides Mbale Heroes and Bright Stars fight for pride at Mbale Municipal stadium.
