Express eye rare double over UPDF

Seven-time league champions Express are out to seal a double over UPDF when the two lock horns at Hamz stadium, Nakivubo on Thursday.

The Red Eagles won the reverse fixture 2-0 at Bombo with second half goals from Conrad Ssenjogera and Sam Ssenyonjo.

After ending a five-match winless streak with a 1-0 victory at Mbale Heroes, Badru Kaddu now wants to win successive matches for the first time since beating Soltilo Bright Stars and ironically UPDF in January.

The visitors are in buoyant mood after beating Maroons 2-1 in Bombo and the two are tied on 32 points with the Red Eagles just above in 9^th position on better head-to-head stats.

Express are unbeaten against UPDF in the last matches since a 1-0 defeat in 2021 when Musa Mudde converted a second half penalty.

In the other game of the day, Vipers make a short trip to Luzira to face Maroons in an early kick off.
