Equatorial Guinea stun AFCON reigning champions Algeria

AFCON 2021 (Group E):

• Algeria 0-1 Equatorial Guinea
• Ivory Coast 2-2 Sierra Leone 

Equatorial Guinea shocked Algeria 1-0 during a group E duel of the on-going AFCON 2021 in Douala.

Esteban Obiang scored the match winner inside the last 15 minutes of the game for the all important goal.

This was the first win for Equatorial Guinea after their 1-0 loss to Ivory Coast.

Algeria is yet to score a goal in 180 minutes following a goal-less draw with Sierra Leone in their opener.

The Desert Foxes’ unbeaten run in 35 international games also came to an end.

The earlier game witnessed Ivory Coast and Sierra Leone share the spoils in a two all draw.

The two final games in group E will be played on 19^th January 2022.

Ivory Coast will host Algeria and Sierra Leone squares up with Equatorial Guinea.
