Elon Musk’s Starlink Submits an Application to the Uganda Communications Commission to Start Its Operations in the Country.

Ugandan residents could soon enjoy high-speed internet access through satellite after Elon Musk’s Starlink submitted a proposal application to the Uganda Communications Commission (UCC) for launching operations in the country). This could improve internet access to more remote regions which do not have dependable internet infrastructure.

Musk’s SpaceX operates Starlink, which provides Satellite internet using a constellation of satellites orbiting the Earth to deliver quality and cost-effective internet. Roughly 26% of Ugandans have internet access, as reported by the Uganda Bureau of Statistics, which makes these developments particularly useful. Many Ugandans depend on costly mobile data or outdated slow links, and starlinks entry might provide a realistic option.

On X, CEO EastAfrica wrote: “Elon Musk’s Starlink submits application to @UCC_Official to begin operations in Uganda,” adding a link to the post. Another user, @GstvAfrica, celebrating the news added: “Big news for Uganda! Elon Musk’s Starlink has applied for a license to operate in Uganda and, by doing so, will change the quite unreliable internet services. Uganda can expect the use of satellite internet in remote regions & increased broadband internet competition. #Starlink #Uganda #InternetForAll”

Starlink is expected to boost businesses, education, and communication in remote areas of uganda, but sadly for now, we all await the decision from UCC.
