Ring Doorbell Not Working with TP-Link Deco? Here’s the Fix
Learn how to easily connect your Ring Doorbell to a TP-Link Deco mesh Wi-Fi system for a stable, secure smart home connection in just a few steps.

Smooth video feeds and notifications are guaranteed with a correct Wi-Fi configuration when Connect tpLink Deco to Ring Doorbell. The Deco system uses band steering to manage a robust and steady 2.4GHz network, which is ideal for ring devices.
1. Adjust Wi-Fi settings.
A single SSID is used by TP-Link Deco for both the 2.4GHz and 5GHz bands. However, if they are set to 5GHz by default, some Ring doorbells have trouble connecting. Start the Ring setup after temporarily moving your smartphone away from the Deco unit to force it to connect at 2.4GHz.
2: Use an app to connect to Ring
-
Launch the Ring app, select "Set up a device," and then adhere to the instructions. Choose your Deco network and provide the password when prompted to connect to Wi-Fi. It should take a minute or two for the Ring device to connect.
-
A troubleshooting tip is to temporarily disable the 5GHz band (found under More > Wi-Fi options > Advanced) on the Deco app and then re-enable it when the setup is complete if the Ring doorbell is unable to connect.
-
To administer your Deco system, log in to the Deco App:
-
Launch the Deco application.
-
Enter your TP-Link ID (password + email) to log in.
To reset your password if you can't remember it, hit "Forgot password?"
After logging in, you are able to:
-
Keep an eye on gadgets
-
Control the parental controls
-
Perform speed tests.
-
Create guest networks.
-
Look for firmware upgrades.
When new devices join your network, you can receive alerts by turning on push notifications in the Deco app. This is useful for monitoring Ring and other smart devices.
