Coffee Marathon 2025: Excitement boils up in Ntungamo up prior to historic event

The vibe is right and the talk of town in Ntungamo district and the surrounding areas is chorused aloud; “The Coffee Marathon”.

This historic event will take place on Saturday, 24th May 2025 with the start and finishing point at the Africa Coffee Park in Rweshamire town, Ntungamo district.

The Coffee marathon is organized by Inspire Africa and will ride along the theme; “Uplift the rural woman” with runners competing in the 5km, 10km, 21km and 42 km races.

The scenic routes will pass through key farming communities and Lake Nyabihoko, showcasing the beauty and significance of the region.

Winners across different race categories will share an enviable total prize purse of UGX 116 million.

The winners of the full marathon will receive UGX 10 million per gender.

These prizes aim to reward excellence and encourage participation in this noble cause.

Former Commonwealth star athlete Dorcus Inzikuru is the coffee marathon brand ambassador.

The marathon sponsors has a long catalogue that has Equity Bank, Crown Beverages Limited, Uganda Tourism Board, Uganda Wildlife Authority, Ministry of Science and Technology and the Ministry of Finance.

Coffee concert:

After the coffee marathon, revelers and guests will be treated to a music concert that has a number of star artists lined up as Diamond Platnumz, Bebe “Big Size” Cool, Eddy Kenzo, Ray G and others.

IAG recently hosted a strategic Coffee Breakfast Meeting, bringing together key stakeholders in the coffee industry, government, development agencies, and the private sector to share the group’s bold vision of growing Uganda’s coffee economy from USD 1 billion to USD 5 billion in five years.

The registration fee is UGX 30,000, which includes a marathon kit and access to the Coffee concert.
