BUL’s Nicholas Mwere apologizes to match officials following chaotic Stanbic Uganda Cup defeat

Nicholas Mwere has issued an apology following chaotic scenes in the Stanbic Uganda Cup defeat to Kitara at Royal Park Butema.
The left back was one of the two BUL players sent off by referee Henry Musisi alongside Jerome Kiirya in game overtaken by events of misconduct from the players and officials.
“It’s a moment were no word can explain what happened in our game against Kitara FC, and am here to pass my apology to match official Musisi, the fans, Fufa and the game of football,” Mwere posted on his X official account.
Mwere appeared to shove the referee after receiving a second booking in the closing stages of the game while his captain Walter Ochora pushed the ref to the ground but shockingly stayed on the pitch.
BUL coach Abbey Kikomeko also didn’t take the defeat well and was seen attacking match officials.
The improper behavior in that game has interested Fufa who have instituted an investigation into the game with more bans expected.
