BUL host KCCA at their new home at Lugazi stadium, Najjembe in a fixture that puts test to the two sides’ title credentials.

The hosts on the day finished in second position last season just two points eventual winners SC Villa with coach Abbey Kikomeko asserting the mission is to win the league this season.

The self-proclaimed Eastern giants had a very good first half in the 2023/24 season and even beat KCCA 1-0 in their opening game then faltered after the break to lose the title.

They did start this campaign with a draw at Police despite playing with a numerical advantage for over an hour after the Cops had their striker Gerald Ogweti sent off.

“We started with a point which isn’t bad away from home,” said Kikomeko. “But against KCCA, we have ironed out the mistakes we made especially in the final third and we are confident of victory,” he added.

On the other hand, KCCA who had a false start to last campaign made a winning start to the new season beating URA 1-0 at Lugogo.

Coach Abdallah Mubiru however warns that the result against the tax men is now in the past and focus on picking a good result at BUL.

“Focus has since shifted to the BUL game which we have control over but the win over URA is now in the past,” he stated.

BUL have star players Jerome Kiirya and Pascal Ngobi back while KCCA still misses the services of Usama Arafat who isn’t fit through injury.

Key Stat:

  • BUL FC and KCCA FC have met 23 times in the Uganda Premier League, with BUL winning 5, KCCA 10, and 8 draws. BUL has scored 13 goals, while KCCA has scored 18.

Elsewhere on Friday, Police take on URA at Kavumba, Wakiso Giants are away to Maroons while Police make the long trip to Mbarara City at Kakyeka.
