Bukedea Comprehensive shoots out Kyadondo SS in explosive quarterfinal duel | 2025 USSSA Boys’ Football

Teso zone’s Bukedea Comprehensive School beat Kyadondo SS from Wakiso zone 8-7 in post-match penalties during the second quarter final of the 2025 USSSA Boys Football in Ngora district.

Normal time of this interesting contest had ended one goal apiece.

Skipper Godfrey Ssekibengo, also a licenced player at URA, put Bukedea Comprehensive School ahead before a late equalizer from Kyadondo SS cancelled out the imminent celebrations.

The game then went to post-match penalties with Bukedea Comprehensive winning 9-8 amid tension from the fans, officials and players alike.

This was the second shoot-out victory for Bukedea Comprehensive in the championship after their 5-4 win over West Nile zone’s Mvara SS at the round of 32 (normal time had ended 0-0).

Bukedea Comprehensive School joins Busoga zone’s Jinja Progressive Academy (JIPRA) at the semifinals.

JIPRA beat high-flying Mentor SS from Lira 1-0 in the opening quarterfinal on Monday morning.

Richard Okello, the team captain of the World Cup-bound Uganda U-17 national team, scored the lone strike for JIPRA.

Other quarterfinal matches:

Two giants of schools’ football, St Mary’s Kitende from Wakiso zone face Kampala zone’s Kibuli SS in the third quarterfinal showdown.

Meanwhile, Buddo SS (Wakiso zone) will square up against another Kampala zone opposition Uganda Martyrs Lubaga.

The semifinals will be played on Tuesday, 13^th May 2025 ahead of the final showdown the following day.

Over 1600 players featured in this championship, organised by the Uganda Secondary Schools Sports Association (USSSA).

All 64 schools received two sets of jerseys from the organisers.
