Quarter-finals (1st Leg Results:

  • Kabula 0-2 Buddu
  • Mawokota 0-1 Buweekula
  • Kyaggwe 1-0 Ssingo
  • Kyadondo 1-0 Busujju

The opening legs of the 2024 Buganda Masaza Cup quarter finals were played on Sunday, 22nd September at four different venues in the Buganda Kingdom.

There were victories for Buddu, Buweekula, Kyaggwe and Kyadondo.

Buddu and Buweekula won on the road as Kyaggwe and Kyadondo recorded home victories.

Buddu won 2-0 on the road at Bakijjulula playground, Kabula.

Acram Juma Katende and Mike Walaga scored Buddu’s goals. Mike Walaga was man of the match.

Buweekula won 1-0 away to Mawokota in Buwama. Fahad Aniku scored Mawokota’s goal.

Kyaggwe recorded a 1-0 win over Ssingo at the Mukono Bishops playground.

David Mugalu scored the home team’s only goal in a duel where Godfrey Arijole was named man of the match.

Kyadondo beat visiting Busujju 1-0 with Samuel Kisozi the hero. Kisozi was also named the man of the match.

The quarter finals will be played on a two-legged basis with the aggregate winner progressing to the semi-finals.

The return legs come on Sunday, 28th September 2024.

The return legs will come a week later on Sunday, 29th September 2024 at Kitovu Arena, Mubende NTC, Mityana Ssaza ground and Kakindu playground.

There is a lot to play for in these four matches of the quarter finals. As expected, there will be mind games, detailed tactical thesis from the respective technical dockets, determined play from the players and wild cheering from the fans in a bid to have the four semi-finalists.

A new champion awaits to be crowned following the early elimination of the 2023 winners Bulemeezi who failed to make it past the group stages.

This tournament is famed for drawing crowds and the attention of area leaders and other politicians as they rally their different teams.
