Boys sieved from men as 2025 USSSA Boys football championship reaches round of 32

It is squeaky-bum-time in Ngora district as the 2025 Uganda Secondary Schools Sports Association (USSSA) boys’ football championship has had the gruelling group stages come to a climax.

The end of the group phase matches has ushered in the interesting and unpredictable knock out round, commencing with the round of 32.

At the same time, the eliminated schools will resume the classification matches at the different venues to determine positions 33 to 64.

Round of 32 phase:

Cup holders St Julian High School from Mukono face the host school Ngora High in one of the epic clashes at the round of 32.

Multiple champions St Mary’s Kitende will take on Bishop Comboni as last year’s losing finalists Amus College shall face Wakiso zone opposition GreenLight Islamic school.

It will be an all-Kampala affair when Kibuli SS squares up against Buziga Islamic School.

Other contests:

Tournament dark horses Kyadondo SS tussles Lake Side Masese from Jinja city, Standard High Zzana will face another Jinja opposition in Jinja Progressive Academy (JIPRA).

Bishop Negri will play Kichwamba and Mentor SS is up against St Kagwa Bushenyi.

Kawempe Muslim takes on Kisozi Seed, Jinja Comprehensive battles Wagwa High whilst MUMSA is facing Blessed Sacrament Kimanya.

Wisdom will play Lagwai Seed, Masaka SS face the reigning Kampala zone champions Uganda Martyrs as star studded Bukedea Comprehensive locks horns with Mvara SS.

Debutants Bugisu High School from Mbale city has a stern test of character in their battle against Richard Malinga’s Buddo SS.

Kabalega will play Standard High School in the other contest at the round of 32.

On Sunday, 11^th May 2025 will be the round of 16, followed by the quarter-finals, semi-final and final on 15th May 2025.
