Allan Oyirworth humbled by performance against Cameroon, The Gambia

As Uganda Cranes engaged in two international friendly matches against West African opposition Cameroon and The Gambia, it was gains for the technical team and players involved.
Uganda Cranes lost 3-0 in the first game to Cameroon in Morocco.
Three days later, The Gambia rallied from behind to equalise and force a one-all stalemate.
One of the Uganda Cranes players, Allan Oyirwoth, featured prominently in both matches, playing full time in the two games, running over eight miles apiece as he donned shirt 8.
“It’s always a pleasure to represent my country. Very proud to be back in this jersey again, it was a tough one on the road but we bounce back stronger,” he posted on his official Twitter (X) handle.
The performances came a few days after signing a new management contract with New Era Global Sports.
Oyirwoth made his senior debut for the Cranes at 16 years old, assisting Rogers Mato in a 1-0 win over Somalia in the 2026 World Cup qualifiers.
Against Cameroon, he nearly scored with a powerful header stopped on the line after Travis Mutyaba’s inviting free-kick in the 88th minute.
New Era Global Sports announced that they are now representing Oyirwoth in the United Kingdom in conjunction with Russell Pointon of Real Talent FC.
New Era Global Sports represents several players in Europe, including Mason Holgate and Michael Keane of Everton, Benjamin Godfrey of Atalanta, and Josh Murphy of Portsmouth.
Manchester United legend Rio Ferdinand, who serves as an ambassador and mentor for the agency, wrote on social media, “Welcome to the family.”
He has been brilliant with the New England Revolution II side, netting against New York City’s second team on April 26, to open up his goal account.
Revolution head coach Caleb Porter hailed Oyirwoth, Eric Klein, and Cristiano Oliveira–all teenagers–after the Chicago Fire game
“I thought those three guys were excellent.” He later added, “They have bright futures with this club.”
Oyirworth signed with the New England Revolution in January 2025.
The workaholic midfielder is a graduate of the Uganda U-20 team.
He was part of the Uganda Hippos (national U-20 team) that lost 0-1 to hosts Ghana in the final of the 2023 All-African Games played in Accra, in March 2024.
Oyirwoth was born in Packwach and studied at Packwach, Kibuli SS and later Amus College School.
