Before You Begin: Back Up Your Settings

Before resetting your Orbi router, it’s recommended to back up any important configuration settings.

To back up your data:

1. Connect your computer to the Orbi network.

2. Open a web browser and go to orbilogin.net or 192.168.1.1.

3. Log in using your admin username and password.

4. Navigate to:
   Advanced > Administration > Backup Settings

5. Click Backup to save your current settings.

Manual Reset via Web Interface

Here’s how to perform a factory reset using the router's interface:

1. Make sure your device is connected to the Orbi network via Wi-Fi or Ethernet.

2. Open a web browser and go to orbilogin.net or 192.168.1.1.

3. Enter your admin credentials on the login page.

4. Go to Settings > Advanced > Administration > Backup Settings.

5. Click the Erase button next to “Revert to Factory Default Settings”.

6. Confirm the prompt to begin the reset.
   ⏳ Note: This may take up to 10 minutes. Do not turn off your router or computer during this process.

After the reset, you’ll need to reconfigure your router and reconnect any satellites.

Reset Using the Physical Button

Alternatively, you can reset the Orbi router using the physical reset button:

1. Ensure the router is powered on.

2. Locate the small RESET pinhole button on the back of the device.

3. Use a paperclip or similar tool to press and hold the button for 10 seconds.

4. Release the button when the power LED starts blinking.

Reconfigure Your Orbi System

You can set up your Orbi router again using the Orbi app (recommended) or the web interface.

Using the Orbi App:

1. Download and open the Orbi app from the App Store or Google Play Store.

2. Log in using your MyNETGEAR account credentials.

3. The app will detect the Orbi router and walk you through the setup process.

4. Set a new Wi-Fi name (SSID) and password.

5. Save your settings and wait for the router to reboot.

 Reconnect the Satellites

1. Place your Orbi satellites in your preferred locations and power them on.

2. In the Orbi app, tap Add Satellite.

3. The app will detect and automatically link the satellites to your mesh network.
