On 29th November 2024, Various outstanding companies, and individuals were awarded for their continued contribution to Uganda’s growth during the 12th Visionaries Of Uganda Award Ceremony held at Serena Hotel in Kampala.

Themed: “Celebrating Excellence & Strengthening Sustainable Inclusive Social-economic Development”, the awarded visionaries according to organizers had exhibited outstanding performance and have contributed tremendously to Uganda’s economic growth.

In her remarks, The 3rd Deputy Prime Minister and Chief Guest at the ceremony represented by Hon. Judith Nabakooba, while congratulating the awarded visionaries of Uganda for their excellent performance and contribution to the realization of Uganda’s National development plans, said that with government support, the different entities can utilize investment opportunities in Uganda with a blend of innovation, technology and new ideas.

“I congratulate the visionary of Uganda who has been awarded. Your achievements serve as testimony to the hard work, and determination as you continue to drive economic growth. I implore you to leverage innovation, harness technology, and new ideas to move ahead” she said.

The Minister of State in charge of General Duties in the Ministry of Finance, Planning and Economic Development, Hon. Henry Musasizi while addressing the gathering of the 12th Visionaries of Uganda Award ceremony said that “We are grateful for the National Planning Authority, stakeholders, and the team at Visionaries of Uganda for recognizing efforts and providing a platform to showcase the achievements of Uganda's visionaries in different sectors of the economy”

The minister said that the government is implementing the Tenfold economic growth strategy which is anchored on four strategic areas with high potential for accelerating economic growth. This he said will be accomplished through four thematic pillars collectively referred to as ATMS. Agri-industrialization, Tourism development, Mineral-based Industrial Development, and Science, Technology, and Innovation, including ICT.

He urged MSMEs can leverage these strategically grown areas to unlock their potential and propel Uganda's economic transformation.

The entities awarded as visionaries of Uganda included: Uganda Cancer Institute as best government health institute, Joint Clinical Research Center (JCRC), National Drug Authority, Brac Uganda Canana Group, Auto Tyres, Galaxy International School, National Council of higher Education, Maltarza, Agricultural Credit Facility-BOU, International Energy Technicians Uganda, Dahabishil, Sasakawa Africa, Huawei Uganda, Stabex Uganda, Post Bank, among others.

Personalities awarded included: Rt. Hon 3rd Prime Minister Rukia Nakadama, Hon Henry Musasizi, Dr. Safina Musenero from Ministry of Education, Hon Peter Lokeris Minister Karamoja, General Wilson Mbadi State Minister trade.
