2025 EAPPCCO Games: Uganda Police Force departs for Ethiopia

The Uganda Police Force team left for the 5^th edition of the East African Police Chiefs Cooperation Organization (EAPCCO) Games due in Ethiopia from April 28, 2025.

The team composed of athletes and officials in Taekwondo and boxing was officially flagged off by the Director of Welfare, Production and Sports in the Uganda Police Force, AIGP Dr. Hadija Namutebi.

AIGP Dr. Namutebi urged the athletes to front the key elements of discipline, teamwork, and national pride.

“You are representing not only the Uganda Police Force, but also the nation. Compete with dignity, show unity, and bring home victory,” she said.

The EAPCCO Games are a biennial regional sporting event that brings together police forces from across East Africa to foster regional cooperation, fitness, and camaraderie through competitive sports.

The theme of this year’s games is; “Strengthening Regional Cooperation for Peace and Security Through Sports.”

Uganda Police Force is committed to regional unity, cross-border crime prevention, and the holistic development of its officers through sports.

The event also promotes talent identification and sharing of best practices among member police institutions.

The hosts Ethiopia will be joined by Uganda, Kenya, Rwanda, Tanzania, South Sudan, Sudan, Djibouti.

Uganda’s delegation is led by Assistant commissioner of Police (ACP) Abu Kalule.

In total, there are 15 athletes and officials.
